Meet Attorney Laura Terry Powell
The Terry Powell Law Firm was established by Laura Terry Powell in 2022. After spending over a decade at Chenault Hammond, PC, learning from the best, Laura decided to establish her own firm focusing on all legal issues affecting North Alabama families.
Laura will continue to zealously advocate for clients across Alabama, focusing primarily on family law and personal injury in North Alabama. Laura also offers mediation services in-office in Morgan and Lawrence Counties, and by travel.
Laura is a native of Moulton, Alabama.
After graduating from Lawrence County High School in Moulton, Alabama, Laura enrolled in the University of Alabama at 17-years-old.
There, she focused on books and football: making the grades while working with both Coach Shula and Coach Saban's recruiting departments to ensure we would, eventually, win another championship! Laura then spent 2.5 wonderful years in Birmingham, Alabama, graduating from Cumberland School of Law one semester early in 2010.
Laura joined the Alabama Bar and began practicing law immediately in 2011. Six years later, Ms. Powell received her AV-Preeminent® rating, the highest peer rating standard by Martindale-Hubbell. Laura was awarded Martindale-Hubbell's Client Champion Award in the year of its inception, 2017, and each year since. She is also rated AV-Preeminent® Judicial Edition, which includes the confidential reviews of members of the Alabama judiciary.
In 2021, Laura was rated by Super Lawyers Magazine as a "Rising Star" for the Mid-South region.
